Additional Business Services

Everything your business needs after registration.

Registering your company is the first step — running it properly is the rest. Our additional business services cover the pieces most owners need next: CRA and WSIB/WCB accounts, minute books and corporate seals, tax filings, digital record keeping and online visibility. Order one service or bundle several, and we handle the paperwork with the same registry and CRA processes we use for incorporations across Canada.

Get your CRA business number and program accounts opened — GST/HST, payroll or import/export — plus WSIB coverage in Ontario or WCB registration in your province. Required before you can charge tax, pay staff or take on many contracts.

§ How it works

How to order additional business services

01

Tell us where your business is at

Let us know whether you’re newly incorporated, already operating, or registered as a sole proprietor. What you need next depends on your structure, your province and whether you have employees.
02

Choose your services

Pick the services that apply — CRA and WSIB/WCB accounts, a minute book, a tax return, digitalization or online listings. If you’re not sure, a phone consultation sorts it out before you spend anything.

03

Send your details and documents

We collect what’s needed for each service: your incorporation documents, director and shareholder details, business activity and, for tax work, your financial records.

04

We complete the filing or build the deliverable

Government registrations are filed on your behalf, physical items are shipped to your address, and digital files arrive by email — ready to use with your bank, accountant or clients.

Why additional business services matter after you register

Registration gets your business a legal name and a number. It doesn’t open your CRA accounts, keep your minute book current, register you for workers’ compensation, or put you on the map when a customer searches for what you sell. Those gaps tend to show up at the worst moments — when a bank asks for your minute book, when a client requires proof of WSIB coverage, or when a CRA deadline has already passed. Handling them early is far cheaper and simpler than fixing them later, and it keeps your corporation in good standing with the registry that holds your file.

§ Who we are

A registered paralegal firm supporting Canadian businesses beyond registration.

Incorporation Registry is a Canadian filing service that helps business owners register their companies and keep them running properly afterwards. We work with founders incorporating for the first time, and with accountants, lawyers and advisors handling filings on behalf of clients.

Our additional business services exist because registration is rarely the last step. Owners come back needing a CRA program account, a minute book their bank will accept, a corporate tax return, or a listing so customers can actually find them. We handle those requests directly, explain what’s genuinely required versus optional for your structure and province, and deal with the registry or CRA when something needs following up.

01

Registered Paralegal Firm

Additional Business Services: Questions, Answered

Additional business services are the add-on services a business needs after it’s registered — CRA and WSIB/WCB account setup, minute books, corporate kits and seals, tax return preparation, contracts, digitalization of corporate records, website design and business listings on Google Maps and Microsoft.

No. Every additional business service can be ordered on its own, whether your company was registered through us, through another provider, or directly with the registry.

Most new corporations start with three: a CRA business number with the right program accounts, a minute book to hold their corporate records, and WSIB or WCB registration if they have employees or work in a covered industry.

A minute book is the set of corporate records themselves — articles, by-laws, registers and resolutions. A corporate kit is the full package: the minute book plus a corporate seal, share certificates and a binder to hold everything.

Yes. Federal and provincial corporate legislation requires corporations to maintain records of their directors, shareholders, officers, by-laws and resolutions. Banks, accountants and buyers routinely ask to see them.

A corporate seal isn’t legally required for most Canadian corporations, but many banks, lenders and institutions still request an embossed seal on share certificates and executed documents.

CRA registration gives your business a business number and the program accounts you need — GST/HST, payroll, corporate income tax or import/export. WSIB (Ontario) or WCB (other provinces) is workplace injury coverage, required for most businesses with employees and for many contractors.

Generally once your business passes $30,000 in taxable revenue over four consecutive calendar quarters. Many businesses register voluntarily before that to claim input tax credits.

Yes. Every corporation resident in Canada must file a T2 corporate income tax return each year, even if it had no income or no activity at all.

A sole proprietor reports business income on their personal T1 return using the T2125 form. A corporation files a separate T2 return in the company’s own name, distinct from the owner’s personal taxes.

We scan, organize and index your corporate records — minute book, filings, certificates and registers — into a searchable digital set you can store securely and share with your bank, accountant or lawyer.

Yes. We create and verify your Google Business Profile so you appear in Google Maps and local search, and set up your listing on Bing Places for Business for Microsoft search and Bing Maps.

A Company Key is the security code Corporations Canada issues to federal corporations for online filings such as annual returns and changes to directors. If you incorporated federally and don’t have one, we can request it for you.
